Cornwall Square Covid-19 update, July 14, 2020
The Cornwall Square Mall continues to be open to the public having returned to its normal Hours of Operation: Monday to Friday 9:30 am to 9:00 pm, Saturday 9:00 am to 5:30 pm and Sunday 11:00 am to 5:00 pm.
With the advent of the Eastern Ontario Health Region’s entry into Stage 2 of the Covid-19 recovery many of the mall stores reopened for business to the public albeit under the regulations imposed by the Eastern Ontario Health Unit and the Ontario Provincial Government. The original measures taken by mall management to combat the spread of the Coronavirus continue today and other steps have been taken along the way: the parking garage is fully operational, the upper level mall entrance that connects to Level 3 of the parking garage is now open, the mall common areas have been turned into one-way pedestrian lanes in order to minimize customer contact, a “customer waiting lane” has been created to provide a place for those customers who have to wait before entering a store, a place to stand and these lanes are marked with signage on a sign post near the lanes. In order to meet the EOHU regulation of reducing customer browsing and lingering, all common area seating has been removed, a necessary action that we apologize to our senior customers at having to take. The Food Court tenants have all reopened for business on a Take-Out basis only per applicable guidelines.
As the Eastern Ontario Health Region prepares to enter Stage 3 of the Covid-19 recovery on July 17th, we at Cornwall Square are ready to welcome our customers back to shop in our indoor environment under a very defined set of regulations established by local and provincial authorities based on the principles of 1) Physical distancing, 2) the Mandatory wearing of face masks and 3) the practice of frequent and proper hand washing hygiene. The mall can now allow gatherings of up to 50 people, however any such gathering must abide by the preceding 3 principles of physical distancing, the mandatory wearing of a face mask and the frequent and proper hand washing hygiene.
The Cornwall Square Mall Food Court under the Stage 3 provisions, will be allowed to accommodate up to 50 people at any given time, however mall management is working with the Eastern Ontario Health Unit in creating a seating layout for 12 tables that will meet the requirements of the 3 governing principles and when satisfied that such a plan can create a healthy environment for our customers, along with the supporting protocols, the food court seating will reappear.
The Cornwall Square Mall is a strong supporter of the physical distancing principle, the wearing of masks by staff and customers and the practice of proper hand washing hygiene.
Please note that certain of the stores that are currently open at the Cornwall Square Mall operate different hours than the posted mall hours as they cope with the new reality of retail stores.
Keep well, be safe, practice physical distancing, wear a mask and wash your hands often and properly.
